Travel 2020

What is reality after all?  This was our first time in Nürnberg ( Nuremberg ) and we'd come here on a recommendation for a stop as we head towards the Rudolstadt Festival . We spent the weekend around the old city, and then headed a short distance west to physically meet with someone with whom we'd been e-corresponding for a little while. Around the Aldstadt It was a relatively short tram ride from our apartment into the edge of the old city, using a weekend travel pass. Nuremberg has a well restored medieval centre, with a large castle hovering over it. What is reality after all?  This will be a relatively short account, as we spent a while on the autobahns driving to here in Nürnberg (i.e. Nuremberg ) from Baldersheim in France. But we made a couple of small diversions on the way. The first was just across the border into Germany, where we needed to stop in order to buy a  Umweltplakette .  We were advised that increasing numbers of German cities have a zone within which you must have an environmental sticker on the car: These stickers show the rated emissions status of the car, and are fixed to the front window: Without one, you risk being fined about 80 euros. We'd bought one of these two trips ago, when we were heading to Berlin, where it's definitely required. You can buy them on-line, but the catch is (for us) that you need to provide a copy...
